Dr. Schroeder (D.O.)

Welcome to Woodland Integrative Medicine! I am Dr. William R. Schroeder, D.O. I graduated from the University of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa in 1989. I completed my Osteopathic General Practice internship at Botsford General Hospital in 1990 and my residency in Internal Medicine from Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington in 1993. I received my American Board of Internal Medicine board certification in 1994 and have been practicing in Colorado as a general practitioner and internal medicine specialist since 1993.

I hold a degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado in Boulder, and have published as a researcher in advanced biomedical investigations. I completed the Helen Stone Robinson Cancer Research Fellowship from the AMC Cancer Research Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado in 1981.

I am a practicing osteopathic physician, and I perform specialized osteopathic manipulation. I honor osteopathic principles in my daily practice as a physician. I have undergone specialized training in energy medicine and continue this training bringing this specialized area of expertise to bear in the healing of my patients.

I am a proud graduate of the inaugural class (2002) of the University of Arizona’s Associate Program in Integrative Medicine (Dr. Andrew Weil, MD Director) I continue my training so that I may bring integrative medicine to my patient’s and my community.

As a practicing Osteopathic Internal Medicine Specialist and General Practitioner I see patients of all ages but generally prefer to work with patients older than age 2. I perform specialized Osteopathic Manipulative Techniques, have advanced training in Craniosacral Therapy, Counterstrain, and have special techniques that relieve low back pain in the majority of patients.

I have a strong interest in Nutritional Medicine and Metabolics and my medical school and Integrative Medicine training is well complemented by my Molecular Biology degree. I love to treat endocrine diseases like hypothyroidism, adrenal fatigue, and menopause.

I have received advanced training in Energy Medicine and perform these treatments often with very good results. I have special interest in Stress Modification.
